2025 Vicki S. Glass Member of the Year

There is a certain kind of purpose you feel when your gifts, your heart, and your community all meet in the same place and for me, that place is Tau Epsilon Omega. Serving in TEO has allowed me to live out my calling with intention: to lead with humility, to uplift my sisters, and to stand firmly in the legacy of service our chapter was built upon. Being honored as the 2025 Vicki S. Glass Soror of the Year is deeply humbling because Soror Glass embodied the very spirit I strive to reflect quiet strength, unwavering commitment, and a heart anchored in sisterliness. Whether serving as Connections & Social Action Chairman, guiding “We the People” civic engagement sessions, supporting our seniors through the Senior Social and Golden Years Senior Fair, mentoring Eta Mu undergraduates, or stepping in to help any committee that needs me, I serve because I believe sisterhood is action. It is collaboration, kindness, and showing up with a spirit that makes others feel valued, supported, and seen.

Receiving the 2025 TEO Community Beacon Award touches me just as deeply, because it reflects the work I pour into the College Park and East Point communities  work that has become part of my identity. From partnering with the College Park Police Department for National Night Out, Trunk or Treat, and Juneteenth; to supporting youth through Zena’s House and Favor House; to volunteering over a thousand hours with Destination College Park; to securing resources, meeting spaces, and civic education opportunities for our PACE participants, my service is rooted in love for the people we serve. I believe a beacon does not shine for itself, it shines so others can find their way. Serving in TEO allows me to be that light, standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with extraordinary women who continue to “set the pace and light the way” for our sisterhood and our community.

Why Tau Epsilon Omega?

Tau Epsilon Omega is where my purpose, my passion, and my community all come together. I chose TEO because this chapter doesn’t just serve we transform lives through sisterhood, civic engagement, and a standard of excellence that inspires me daily. Here, my work in social action, youth mentorship, and community partnership is not only supported but amplified by women who lead with grace and serve with heart. TEO is home because it allows me to shine my light while standing beside sisters who are lighting the way right along with me.
