Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter

Our past empowers our purpose

The legacy of service to the College Park and East Point communities began in 1991. To know our chapter’s history is to understand the power of purpose, the value of community, and the beauty of enduring sisterhood through service.

TEO Chapter

History

In January 1991, Veronica L. Ransom envisioned establishing a new chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in the Atlanta area and took the initiative to turn that vision into reality. Her leadership led to the formation of The Ivy Twines Interest Group on May 18, 1991. The group focused its efforts on creating a chapter in South Fulton County and reactivating Alpha Kappa Alpha members within the community.

That vision came to fruition on November 16, 1991, when The Ivy Twines Interest Group was officially chartered as the Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Twenty-three dynamic and talented women from diverse backgrounds came together, united by a shared dedication to sisterhood and service. These women became the proud charter members of a chapter designed to be “large enough to serve, but small enough to care.”

Tau Epsilon Omega became the seventh graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
